This is an excellent supplement for dogs who are starting to show their age. We gave it to our English Shepherd, because he was starting to limp at night, and have difficulty getting up from lying down. In less than two weeks of giving him the Super Joint Supplement powder with his food, both of these problems were gone, and have remained gone. He no longer acts 10 - closer to 5, I'd say. After a few months of maintenance, he felt well enough to jump up, steal the container off the counter, chew the lid off and enjoy a feast of joint supplement.

As a comparison, we had picked up some joint health tablets at our pet store before we tried the Sea Pet. We went through the entire jar (dosing per the label instructions) and didn't see any change at all.

I have recommended the Super Joint Supplement to anyone I know who has a big dog, or who has a dog who's aging. The powder is quite palatable to dogs - ours has his right on top of his kibble, and licks the bowl afterward. Be prepared for about 30 minutes of "dog breath" after dosing, but that's nothing when compared to the youthful dog you get in return.

Hi there,

I have had my dog Nautica on the Shark Cartilage for about 2 years. A few years ago we came home from work to find him on the floor not able to
use his back legs. We took him to the vet and was told to put him on 3 different pills 3 times each day - and he was not sure if he would ever be able to stop taking them. Nautica has 2 slipped discs and a hip problem. After about a week on the 3 pills, I felt so bad cause I knew was in so much pain and I couldn't do anything about it! I went to a local pet store and asked if there was anything I could do to help with making him less stressed. He told me about your Shark Cartilage and said if I didn't like it that he would give me my money back. I had nothing to lose, so I tried it. I couldn't believe that within a week or so, he was off the 3 pills all together! He has not been on any since and has not had any problems with his back legs or hip! I think this product is amazing! I you could have seen Nautica a few years ago and see him now, you would think that he was a different dog! Let's just say that he loves to jump on everyone who walks in the door ... and he is about 120 poiunds! Thanks for making such a great product! Natuica and Myself thank you so much! Veronica

Thank you so much!
Since I switched from Glycoflex to the shark cartilage I have seen a very noticable difference in my black lab's (Olivia) knee.  Thank you for having a wonderful, natural product to offer.

Butchy passed away in September 03, he will be missed. The Shark Cartilage actually worked well, it took about 6 weeks to fully kick in. Thanks again I’ll be back when I get a pet.

Hi Eileen & Carder:

I have spoken with you several times over the phone for 3 plus years or so ordering the shark cartilage product for my dog, Alidar. I would like to get on the mailing list for updates and specials.

Thanks for the great product. Dar has been on it like I said, I think for 3 years now & he is getting ready to turn 11 in less than a month. I think it really helps him stay limber & moving very well. He is a 98 pound red Doberman and stays with your product every day.

So I just want to get on your mailing list. I just received my 1st package of my new order for the powder. I am on the buy 4 & get 1 free program.

So Carder thanks again & I look forward to keeping my dog healthy!!!
Thanks

I try to feed both the shark cartilage and Omega-3 fish oils. So right now I feed the treats with both shark cartilage and Omega 3 fish oils (cold water fish oil), to my dogs in the morning, after their breakfast. I utilize the treats to do a quick agility command before I walk out the door.

As far as shark cartilage: I am not an expert on al the glucosamine-chondroitin products, but I personally KNOW people who saw a big difference in their dogs movement when those dogs had either HD problems, arthritis, or other similar things. One I am thinking of this moment, an elderly Springer Spaniel, had dog go from not being able to even go on/off the couch, or up the stairs, without huge effort, to happily doing those activities again. She swears by shark cartilage (the owner, I imagine the dog would too if she knew why she felt better).

My Ista girl is now 8 years old, and Marcus is 7. Anything I can do like this that can keep their joints healthy, I will do. We are still doing agility, and I want to see my dogs enjoying that, so good health and prevention of disease is of course part of that.

And the Omega 3 fish oils, well that's another story. I can see IMMEDIATE improvement in their coats on the fish oil product. Over the winter, I just flat out ran out of money, and there were some weeks where I just could not afford these supplements. Somewhere in between the Christmas shopping and the tax refund, it was not good. So they were not on the fish oil either. Then I got the shark cartilage and fish oil, and within like 2 DAYS, their good coats got even better, NOTICEABLY better right away. Certainly picked up some shine that was missing, and thickened up.

And also? We have NOT had the "big shed" for springtime that some folks are talking about
recently. We did last year (they were not on the Omega 3 at the time). Maybe they've lost some coat transitioning to their summer coats, but it wasn't like dumped all at once. Heck, I'm wondering if they lost ENOUGH coat for the hot weather! So that part I can see right away.

I have a 9 year old black Lab, Bailey. She has had hip and shoulder problems for a few years. She loves to chase tennis balls and swim. About 3 years ago, she began having stiffness after play. One day she woke and wouldn't put her left rear leg on the ground. An emergency visit to the vet resulted in a cortisone shot and a prescription for Rimadyl. She improved but I didn't want her relying on arthritis medicine at 6 years old. I also didn't want her to stop playing, weight gain wouldn't help matters.

By luck, I found your web site and decided to give shark cartilage a try. Well, Bailey is now 9 years old. She continues to chase tennis balls (beating my brother's 1 year old puppy to the ball) and swim. She gets a little stiffness after a long day of play but ... she doesn't hobble on 3 legs any more. She acts like a puppy when she sees a tennis ball or a lake. I'm so happy she can still enjoy her life and we can enjoy her. Thank you for a great product!

Dear Carder:
Since we spoke approximately one month ago, my twelve year old Lab's mobility has improved considerably. As I mentioned to you, she has recently developed some difficulty descending stairs due, according to my vet, to back arthritis.

However, now, based on a number of environmental and dietary factors - of which your product is a major element - she's doing much better.

Please keep up the good work.

Message: Dear Mr. Starr,
I have a comment and question. First of all, the shark cartilage powder has worked wonders for my dog. Winston is an 11 year-old golden retriver mix who had really slowed down over the past two years due to arthritis in his back. I'd tried glucosamine-chondroitin supplements, which seemed to be slowing the process of deterioration, but he was continuing to go downhill. After putting him on the Sea Pet shark cartilage his activity rate increased dramatically, his rear legs no longer go out from under him, he can jump in the back seat of the car, and he chases his frisbee like a puppy. My parents house-sat for us recently and (without knowing about the change in his supplement) my father mentioned that Winston was following him out to the barn again--something that Winston hadn't done in quite awhile.

Thank you.

Dear Carder:
Message: Just saw your spot on Channel 10 (NBC TV Providence) about Sea Pet and wanted to add my 2 cents to the testimonials. I have a 7 year old lab mix who had been having some trouble with stiffness and soreness in his rear legs. During last winter he did the splits in the backyard on the ice. After that he couldn't even jump up on the bed to sleep which he has done since he was a puppy. I started him on Sea Pet after about 3 weeks. Within a month he was back sleeping on the bed and all signs of stiffness are gone. I will keep him on the Sea Pet for the remainder of his life....... Bennett deserves the best and I would highly recommend this product to anyone who has a dog who shows symptoms of arthritis. Good job!!!

Yes, please feel free to use the letter. I use the powder formula as Bennett is kinda picky and didn't take too readily to the biscuits...... but you know, it works so who cares. Bennett is much healthier and happier since he's been on it. Thanks so much for answering my e-mail. Good luck with future products. You're the best!!!

For several months, our 8 year old border collie, Bright, hadn't been able to jump into our pickup truck when the tail gate was up. Previously, it had been her favorite place to snooze while waiting for my husband, and she would jump in and out at her pleasure while the truck was parked in our driveway. After three weeks on
Sea Pet shark cartilage (since I got it from you at the Stowe, VT agility trials, Carder), there she was, in the bed of the truck, with the tail gate up, waiting for Johannes to take her to work. Sea Pet shark cartilage also helped Trapper stay agile the last three or four years of his life.
Thank you.

I want you to know that I have a 16 1/2 year old terrier mix dog who has arthritis not only in her hips, but in her toes as well. I was giving her glyco-flex 600 and saw some improvement, but about 6 weeks ago I found your web site and ordered the
Sea Pet shark cartlige capsules. Princess has been on these capsules about 4 -5 weeks now and boy can we see a difference. She seems to be feeling better and has alot more mobility.
Thank You!!

Message: Carder, they say God puts people in places where they can make a difference. Well, if that is the case, which I wholeheartedly believe, I thank God you were at the Golden Retriever show at the Holiday Inn in Providence last winter

As you may recall, I was quite skeptical of your product. I had tried anything and everything to help ease my Golden Retriever's arthritis and chronic ear inflammations. I'm so grateful I decided to give the Sea Pet Shark Cartilage capsules a try!

Maggie is over 8 years old, and until I started her on the capsules, I could see that she was definitely "slowing down". When we went on our walks, her head was down and it was obvious that she was in pain and her zest for life was gone. Her ears constantly bothered her...she was a miserable old gal.

As I write this email, she is rolling around on the floor with my friend's 2 year old Gordon Setter who is, to say the least, a bundle of energy. And Maggie is keeping up. She may not leap tall buildings, but she runs and plays and that sparkle in her eyes is back.

I hope that any of the readers of this email who are skeptical (as I was) will at least give your product a try. Not only does it work, but it is a pleasure to have a business relationship with you and your company. You have a wonderful business ethic...and I know that any calls or messages left for you will be returned.

Thank you for giving my best friend a new lease on life!

I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for your wonderful products. Like many pet owners we value our dog as a member of our family, like a child, and any parent would be concerned about their health. Our 8 year old Lab, Cameron, has been a constant companion for us as well as for our two children, a very active dog who enjoys swimming and hiking as well as chasing tennis balls and cats. About two years ago we noticed he had started to slow down some and would often become lame after any strenuous activity. We spent hundreds of dollars on vet bills, x-rays and expensive pain related medications that you see advertised on TV, nothing seemed to work.

We were at the stage where we feared that we might have to put him down; an agonizing thought for us, his life seems so small compared to what it once was. He was no longer able to chase tennis balls or even go for a swim without having trouble getting up for the next couple of days. Sometimes he even had trouble going up and down our back stairs. He seemed to be in a great deal of pain.

Finally, our vet spoke to us about using shark cartilage, we thought how could that work, it seemed so simple and we've tried everything else. So one day while at the pet store we bought your Sea Pet product and gave it a try. Within two to three days the transformation was unbelievable, it was like someone had turned the clock back and returned our once happy, healthy and strong beloved member of our family. Cameron is now back to his old self, taking walks with the family, swimming in the ocean and is back to chasing tennis balls and sorry to say, cats, too.

I just can't say enough about your product. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Sea Pet supporters always.

Dear Sirs:

I am writing this letter to let you know how much I appreciate your products. Two years ago, my 4-year old Golden Retriever began to have problems. She was unable or unwilling to climb the stairs to the bedrooms where she had always slept nights and had trouble getting up from a sitting position. In fact, she got to the point where I would have to pull her by her shoulders in order for her to rise. My veterinarian ordered X-rays of her back legs and she was diagnosed with damaged upper knee joints. The specialist who examined her compared her knees to those of a football player who has been hit from the side too many times. It was determined that the following spring she should have surgery to replace her knee joints.

The doctor prescribed Rimadyl for her pain. She was on Rimadyl for about 4 months, and had shown a small degree of relief, when I happened upon your Sea Pet Shark Cartilage while visiting Allie's Tack Shop. I decided to give it a try. Within a few weeks, I noticed a difference. She began climbing the stairs occasionally and seemed to be getting up with much less difficulty. She was so improved by spring that decided against the surgery. She has been on the combination of Rimadyl and Shark Cartilage now for almost two years and shows absolutely no indication of any type of problem. This week I clocked her running beside my 4-wheeler at 8 miles per hour. Not bad for a cripple!

I was so impressed with her improvement that I decided to try your equine product on my horse. In 1995, at one-year-old, he was the Palomino World Champion Yearling at the Palomino World Show in Tulsa, Oklahoma. By the end of 1996, I noticed that he was having some movement problems. He seemed to be growing unevenly, his left side appearing less developed than his right. He was examined at Tufts University Large Animal Hospital in North Grafton, Massachusetts and diagnosed with neurological disorders in his upper spine. X-rays of his hind legs showed juvenile arthritis in his hocks (hind knee joints). I began to give him your Sea Pet Shark Cartilage, after having tried various other equine products such as Cosequin, MSM, Grand Flex, Flex Free and other similar products with little results. Over this summer, I noticed that he seemed more inclined to run and try to play with the other horses in the fields. I decided to experiment and see if there was any real difference or if he was just adjusting to his lifestyle, so I discontinued the shark cartilage last month. Already, I can see the difference. He moves less, has a less friendly attitude and seems very stiff and sore. He goes back on the powder this week.

In conclusion, I just wanted you to know that I have never been as impressed with a line of products as I am with your canine and equine shark cartilage. You should be very proud of the good you have done.

Sincerely,
Margaret G.

I want to thank you for the wonderful effect your shark cartilage product has had on our elderly golden retriever, Brandy. I think our story is worth sharing and would be grateful if you could pass on the success we have had to other dog lovers.

Brandy will be 14 years old in May, and other than being almost completely blind, and nearly deaf, she has been in good health. However, last August, she started to develop arthritis in her rear legs, especially her right one. It got to the point that she was no longer able to walk up stairs, or go on walks with us. We had heard about shark cartilage being an effective treatment for canine arthritis, and decided to give it a try.We bought one of your competitor's products, but it didn't have much impact on her condition. Then I discovered that your product has a much higher concentration of shark cartilage, the active ingredient, and switched to your Sea Pet product. At about the same time, Brandy developed several growths on her left leg which the vet guessed were cancerous tumors. His recommendation was to amputate her leg to treat the cancer, though he said we could give her pain medication and wait and see if her condition changed. We decided to wait and see what happened rather than further disable our beloved dog.

Well before long, we noticed that the growths were getting smaller and that she seemed to be feeling better and was clearly more mobile and even frisky. We stopped the pain medication (but not the Sea Pet shark cartilage) in December as she no longer seemed to need it. Then in January we ran out of shark cartilage, and were without any for a few days. Her condition immediately got worse. Once she was back on it again, she returned to her frisky self.

Now we have a different problem. Last week she was feeling so good that she decided to take herself on an (unauthorized) walk, and eventually got lost. After 6 hours of searching day and night for her, we found her the next morning a half mile away. She had befriended one of our neighbors and decided to stay with him for the night! Before we put her on your product, this kind of outing would never have been possible. We realize that she may not live much longer, and only hope that her mobility, which determines her quality of life, can remain as good as it is now. We have you and your product to thank for this great turnaround and extension to her lifespan.

My dog absolutely loves these biscuits. Maxine (Old English sheep dog) weighs 90 lbs and is 5 years old. Her joints got very stiff due to a "lupus-type" disease. After one week of "treats", she walks without any stiffness. She also brought her toys into play after having ignored them for a couple of months!

I have two Dalmatians. They are both about seven years old, I adopted them, one from the humane society and one from the Dalmatian Rescue organization here in Southern California; therefore, I am not sure exactly how old they are.

Manchas, the female has recently developed a limp in her left rear leg. I was told it was arthritis. The vet prescribed aspirin and then a steroid. There did not appear to be any improvement. Then a new doctor joined the staff, his name is Dr. Marcus. The first time he examined Manchas, he told me about your shark cartilage and how it has helped his dog. He gave me your telephone number and I called and ordered some biscuits.

In the three weeks that Manchas has been given the biscuits, I have seen a very marked improvement. Her limp is limited to right after a long period of lying down. She runs like a young puppy. I attribute this improvement to your Sea Pet shark cartilage biscuits. Even though Alex, my male, does not seem to have the same problem, I have given him the biscuits twice a day, as a preventive. They both look forward to getting the biscuits.
